Joe Lorenzo and Cinda Snow recently sat down for lunch in Manhattan Beach, CA here’s what the two discussed:

Joe (Q): What is your current occupation? How long have you been in your current position?

Cinda (A): I’m a Talent Manager and a Producer. I became a Manager over 25 years ago but recently started creating and finding projects for my talent as a Producer a few years ago to help them get acting jobs.

Joe (Q): How did you get started?

Cinda (A): My daughter had an interest in acting at a young age, so I learned the business both as a Mother and then as a Manager. I realized I could help other children and their parents, so I became a Manager.

Joe (Q): Did you have any mentors or someone guiding you along the way?

Cinda (A): I met many wonderful agents, managers and parents who have shared their experiences and knowledge of this ever-changing business.

Joe (Q): How important is it to study and private coach for auditions?

Cinda (A): As an educator I feel you can and should always learn as much as you can to help you get better at whatever you’re doing. Having a good coach to validate the choice an actor makes is important as long as they are not taking away their confidence.

Joe (Q): With all the rejection this business has, what keeps you going for your clients? What advice do you give your clients as they experience rejection

Cinda (A): I don’t believe “rejection” is the right word. Yes, it is disappointing, and we have a lot of disappointments in your lives, but we learn and grow from them. They are not being rejected, they just weren’t ready for the role.

Joe (Q): What piece of advice do you have for those just starting out?

Cinda (A): There is so much information out there on the internet and in books. They should do the research about the Industry and people they meet. It’s not going to be fast or easy. It will take time to learn and to be patient.

Joe (Q): Any last words of wisdom or something you would like to leave us with that can help someone starting out or someone struggling to keep going in this business

Cinda (A): Every child and family situation is different. You can’t compare yourself or your child to what’s going on with someone else’s journey. Help your children enjoy themselves and have fun/support other kids and their achievements. Pay it Forward.
